Vettel Does it Again
Setting a Formula One season record, Vettel achieved his eighth consecutive win of the 2013 season at Circuit of The Americas. He got off to a quick start from the pole, and with a fast breakaway, the other drivers didn’t stand a chance.
Finishing in second was Romain Grosjean, who pulled his best finish this season, and in third was Mark Webber, Vettel’s Red Bull teammate. See Current Standings>>
Vettel is on his way to set another record in Brazil next weekend – 13 victories in one season. He has a chance to tie Michael Schumacher, who currently holds this title.
Circuit of The Americas Experiences enjoyed an action packed weekend filled with special events, VIP hospitality, and great views of all of the racing action from Circuit of The Americas. Here’s a breakdown of each of the day’s events.
A Great Weekend in the Legends Club
The weekend festivities were kicked off with the exclusive Circuit of The Americas Experiences Thursday Night Circuit Tour and Party. Guests enjoyed a track tour of Circuit of The Americas, which included a tour of the Track Tower and champagne toast inside the Crown Royal hospitality tent.
Next, guests were brought inside the Circuit of The Americas Experiences' Legends Club, where the real party began! The night consisted of a Q&A with racing legend Mario Andretti, photo opportunities with the United States Grand Prix trophy, and plenty of gourmet food and premium beverages.
To close out the evening, guests enjoyed a private concert from American Idol® winner Taylor Hicks, who rocked the Legends Club until the end of the night. The entire Thursday Night Party was an amazing experience and was the perfect kickoff to the weekend!
Friday was the first day of practice. Fans were able to get their first glimpse of drivers as they tested the Circuit of The Americas track, familiarizing themselves with the nuances of each turn and straightaway.
Inside the Legends Club, clients had the opportunity to enjoy Lunch with a Legend, a private luncheon featuring a Q&A session with driving legend Sir Jackie Stewart!
Guests enjoyed a full gourmet lunch and open bar, as well as the opportunity to ask questions to the racing legend. Stewart entertained guests with stories about his driving career, thoughts on
the future of Formula 1 racing, and how America could gain momentum in Formula 1 auto racing.
He also cracked a few jokes with guests as they asked him questions about his driving rivals and how he managed his fame with his personal life. Guests who purchased VIP passes to the luncheon also got the opportunity to meet Jackie, take pictures, and receive autographs from the racing legend!
With qualifying happening on the track, guests were able to escape into the Legends Club for a full day of food, premium beverage, and entertainment.
Saturday was also the first day guests could experience the VIP Skybox attached to the Legends Club. Guests who purchased this package received excellent views of the starting line and first turn, with an elevated position on the track.
The main feature of the day was an appearance by current Formula 1 driver Esteban Gutiérrez. With many of his fans in attendance, Gutiérrez held a private Q&A session inside the Legends Club talking about his young career as an F1 driver and how his experience on the small circuits prepared him for the big leagues.
When asked how young kids can prepare for a career in F1 racing, Gutiérrez offered the following advice, “It’s important to have a solid moral ground and to do the right thing. If you do that, things will work out for you.” Very solid advice from such a young star.
Gutiérrez ended the night by signing autographs for fans in attendance and even took the time to take pictures with clients before exiting for the evening.
Race day was finally here and you could feel the excitement inside the Legends Club.
As fans prepared for the main afternoon race, they enjoyed one of the best meals of the weekend, highlighted by our Circuit of The Americas Experiences ice sculpture. Housing delectable items such as crab legs, lump crab, and jumbo shrimp, the ice sculpture was a crowd favorite!
Sunday also featured appearances by several celebrities inside the Legends Club and the attached VIP Skybox. The celebrity list included Nichole Galicia (Actress, Django Unchained), Taboo (Black Eyed Peas), Rick Yune (Actor, Olympus Has Fallen), Stephen Collins (Actor, 7th Heaven) and Jake LaMotta (Legendary Boxer, The Raging Bull).
After Vettel claimed the crown, guests returned to the Legends Club for a final hour of hospitality to close out an amazing week.
