MotoGP™ madness is underway for the month of March!
Here are six things we are most excited about this upcoming 2015 MotoGP™ Season:
1. The Marquez Brothers Bringing It
After breaking records and barriers, we cannot wait to see what the two Marquez brothers are going to do next!
Marc broke the MotoGP™ legend Mich Doohan’s record of 12 wins when he secured 13 wins in one season last year, and he and Aleix became the first brothers in MotoGP™ history to win championships in their respective divisions in the same season.
The younger Marquez, Aleix, will move up to Moto2 for the 2015 MotoGP™ season while Marc begins another season with Dani Pedrosa by his side at Honda Repsol.
As always, the bikes are even faster this year! CWM LCR Honda recently revealed its stylish new bikes in London while Ducati also revealed its new bike for the upcoming season.
The bikes appear more compact and involve different aerodynamics, including a new air intake and ‘seamless’ gearbox.
3. New Kids on the Grid
Jack Miller, CWM LCR Honda
The Aussie, Jack Miller, will join CWM LCR Honda alongside Cal Crutchlow for the 2015 MotoGP™ season. The 19-year-old is taking a big leap from Moto3 after being second in the division at the end of the 2014 season. It will be interesting to see the new rider adjust to the new model bikes on the track this season.
Maverick Vinales, Suzuki MotoGP
Maverick Vinales has stepped up to join Aleix Espargaro on Suzuki. After finishing first in Moto3 in 2013 and then following it up finishing third in Moto2 in 2014, the young rider from Girona has collected at total of 16 grand prix wins across classes during his career.
Although he will most likely be overshadowed by the much bigger name of his teammate, Espargaro, we certainly hope to see a lot more in the future from this up-and-coming rider… the next Marquez anyone?
4. The Team to Look Out For: Suzuki
With the added talent of Vinales on Suzuki and the rule change to allowing the team to continue to develop its bikes until the end of the 2015 season, we expect to see lots of improvement throughout the nine-month season.
After finishing testing in Sepang, Suzuki seemed satisfied with the modifications made to its engines and excited for the start of the season March 15, in Qatar.
5. MotoGP™ Popping Up in Pop Culture with Emojis!
MotoGP™ appears to only be growing in popularity. Last year, more than 2.5 million fans attended races across the world. The sport is widely covered by media and one of MotoGP's riders even has his own official emoji. How cool is that?!
The current Drive M7 Aspar rider and Kentucky native, Nicky Hayden, has become a pop culture figure and was recently the first MotoGP™ rider to be approached to develop his own emoji.
6. Circuit of The Americas™
The Circuit of The Americas™ track is a favorite for both riders and fans. The state-of-the-art circuit was purposely built to host events such as the Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas™ and creates a unique experience for MotoGP™ fans.
Between the 251 foot Observation Tower providing 360 panorama views of the circuit and the beautifully designed Main Grandstand, which offers spacious and comfortable seating, the circuit is known worldwide.
