Formula 1™ Gran Premio de España Pirelli
Lewis Hamilton beat out title rival and points leader Sebastian Vettel by 0.051 seconds with a final race time of 1:35:56.497. This was Hamilton’s second win of the year. Vettel started the race off in first place and fought hard through 66 laps until Q3, when he came neck and neck with Hamilton, who pulled through to take first place in the end.
Formula 1™ Gran Prix de Monaco
On May 28th racers lined the grid in Monte Carlo for the race of the year, which every driver dreams of winning. A
combination of precision driving, technical excellence and pure bravery is what is takes to win a race like this. With its barrier lined circuit, this racetrack requires drivers to maintain more concentration than any other race, and is what separates the good drivers from the great ones.
Sebastian Vettel redeemed himself after coming in second in Barcelona to win in Monaco with a race time of 1:44:44.340 putting him 25 points ahead at the top of the leaderboard. Vettel overtook teammate Kimi Raikkonen in the pit which raised controversy as he ran five laps longer to emerge ahead. Raikkonen’s body language on the podium was worth a thousand words as he stood straight faced and barely acknowledged his teammate.
Formula 1™ Grand Prix Du Canada
Just over a week ago, drivers headed to Montreal, Canada for the most recent F1™ race. Racer, Gilles Villenueve was the debut winner when the track opened in 1978 and after his tragic death in 1982, the racetrack was named in his honor.
During the 2017 race on June 11th, Lewis Hamilton clinched first place, making up for his seventh-place finish in Monaco with a race time of 1:33:05.154 and a record-breaking lap 65th lap of 1:11.459. Hamilton pulled ahead of title rival Sebastian Vettel with teammate Valterri Bottas following in third. Vettel saw his winning margin close from a 25-point lead to 12 after he received fourth place due to damage to his front wing during the opening lap.
