Since returning to its current home in Austin, Texas back in 2012, the US Grand Prix at Circuit of The Americas™ has become the unmissable event on the race calendar. The first purpose-built F1™ facility in the United States, no other venue gives fans an experience of such uniqueness. Unrivalled wheel-to-wheel racing to the elevation changes throughout the 20-turn anticlockwise track, race fans experience is on another level, it’s all-consuming; because everything is bigger (and here, better) in Texas, right?
“No other venue delivers so much when it comes to adding value to the sporting experience”
Designed by renowned circuit designer Hermann Tilke, the German engineer took the concept of combining fans’ favorite corners from different tracks around the globe. It’s fast, undulating flow across its 3.4-mile circuit immerses the site’s natural contour. The steep uphill hairpin into Turn One is the track’s signature sight, with creator Tilke basing Turns 16 through mirroring the multi-apex Turn Eight at the Turkish Grand Prix.
Arguably the most rounded driver of all-time, Mario Andretti, the 1978 F1 World and IndyCar Champion is a big fan. “This track is phenomenal. It has all the features that race-car drivers are looking for, as far as giving them the opportunity to overtake other drivers. Bottom line, there’s some really terrific racing out there.”
Much More Than Just A Race
What sets Circuit of The Americas apart from its competitors is really quite simple, it is so much more than just a race. Without even mentioning the fact that the race is the eighteenth on the race calendar (so its outcome will be pivotal in deciding the drivers’ championship), with a COTA Experiences three-day package, your unrestricted viewing of the race itself and fine dining comes with add-ons. On Saturday after qualifying, Austin360’s Amphitheatre the largest permanent outdoor amphitheatre in Texas, will play host to mutli-Grammy award winner Taylor Swift, which happens to be her ONLY concert for the entire year of 2016. Blood pumping ahead of the USGP weekend starting October 21st? Shake it off, there’s still time to get your VIP access.
