Meet The Teams: 2019 MotoGP

The 2019 MotoGP season is right around the corner, and teams and riders are gearing up for whatever the next campaign has in store. The offseason saw several riders leave MotoGP, either exiting the sport for good or taking their talents elsewhere. There were also multiple seats shuffled, with teams attempting to create a winning formula for what promises to be another exciting slew of Grand Prix. 

With so much movement, we're giving you the guide to every team and rider heading into the 2019 MotoGP season.

Respol Honda Team

  • Marc Marquez

    • Nationality: Spanish
    • Bike: Honda
  • Jorge Lorenzo

    • Nationality: Spanish
    • Bike: Honda

Lorenzo makes his debut for Repsol Honda after spending two years on Ducati's factory team. He is taking the seat of the now-retired Dani Pedrosa from the 2018 season. 

Petronas Yamaha SRT

  • Fabio Quartararo

  • Franco Morbidelli

    • Nationality: Italian
    • Bike: Yamaha

Morbidelli makes the jump to Petronas Yamaha SRT after spending his first year in MotoGP with Marc VDS. Quartararo enters his rookie season after competing in Moto2 for the last two years. 

LCR Honda

  • Takaaki Nakagami

    • Nationality: Japanese
    • Bike: Honda
  • Cal Crutchlow

    • Nationality: British
    • Bike: Honda

Aprilia Racing Team Gresini

  • Andrea Iannone

    • Nationality: Italian 
    • Bike: Aprilia
  • Aleix Espargaro

    • Nationality: Spanish
    • Bike: Aprilia

Iannone is joinging the Aprilia team after two successful years behind the wheel at Suzuki. He is replacing Scott Redding, who will not compete in MotoGP in 2019. 

Team Suzuki Ecstar

  • Joan Mir

  • Alex Rins

    • Nationality: Spanish

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing

  • Johann Zarco

    • Nationality: French 
    • Bike: KTM
  • Pol Espargaro

    • Bike: KTM

Zarco is jumping over to Red Bull in place of Bradley Smith, who moved to MotoE at the conclusion of the 2018 season. The French rider has spent the last two years with Tech 3.

Reale Avintia Racing

  • Karel Abraham

    • Nationality: Czech
    • Bike: Ducati
  • Tito Rabat

    • Nationality: Spanish
    • Bike: Ducati

Abraham joins forced with Rabat after spending the 2018 season behind the wheel at the Angel Nieto Team. 

Alma Pramac Racing

  • Jack Miller

    • Nationality: Australian
    • Bike: Ducati
  • Francesco Bagnaia

    • Nationality: Italian
    • Bike: Ducati 

Bagnaia joins MotoGP in 2019 after winning the 2018 Moto2 World Championship. He is replacing Danilo Petrucci on the Pramac Racing team. 

Red Bull KTM Tech 3

  • Hafizh Syahrin

    • Nationality: Malaysian
    • Bike: KTM
  • Miguel Oliviera

    • Nationality: Portuguese
    • Bike: KTM

Oliviera moves up to MotoGP this season after finishing second in the 2018 Moto2 World Championship. 

Yamaha Factory Racing

  • Maverick Vinales

  • Valentino Rossi

    • Nationality: Italian
    • Bike: Yamaha

Ducati Team

  • Andrea Dovizioso

    • Nationality: Italian 
    • Bike: Ducati
  • Danilo Petrucci

    • Nationality: Italian
    • Bike: Ducati

Petrucci joins forces with the Ducati Team for the 2019 campaign. He's finished 8th the last two seasons with Pramac Racing. 

Grand Prix of The Americas
