This past weekend was filled with pleasant weather, great food, special appearances, and so much more! Every day was filled with excitement both on and off the track.
On Friday, we were visited by two very talented MotoAmerica teammates, Tony Elias and Roger Hayden (pictured below). Elias went on to win the MotoAmerica race on Sunday and told us that Circuit of The Americas™ is one of his favorite tracks to ride on. Hayden, who recently got married, told us that his change in relationship status is NOT going to slow him down any time soon. The two young riders signed autographs and took pictures with fans following their Q&A session.
On Saturday, we had the pleasure of meeting the legendary Kevin Schwantz. He spent his time on stage poking fun at his past competitors and walked us down the memory lane of his driving career. Guests were buzzing with excitement at meeting one of their idols and got the chance to tell him how much he meant to them during the meet and greets following the appearance.
Sunday, race day, was filled with legends. Josh Herrin, current MotoAmerica rider joined us along with one of the greatest riders of all time, Randy Mamola. Mamola was inducted into the World Championship Hall of Fame on Saturday. He gave an emotional speech regarding a charity he’s passionate about, Riders for Health. Mamola’s good friend, Kenny Roberts Sr. and his son Kenny Roberts Jr. joined us just before the big race. We found out that Kenny Roberts Jr. would probably beat his dad in a go-kart race.
Food, Food and More Food
Each day began with a delicious breakfast consisting of eggs, pancakes, frittatas, bacon, an entire table spread of fresh fruit and so much more. On the first day, lunch consisted of a taco bar; Saturday and Sunday brought a larger variety to suit everyone, including the meat-lovers, along with seafood and vegan options. The hit of the weekend was the post-race ice cream bar which greatly pleased guests of all ages.
Every day guests were given a new ticket. We raffled off beautiful pieces of art work that were displayed in the back of one of the hospitality suites. These were mainly photos of riders, framed with their signature. On Saturday and Sunday, we also raffled off signed event posters by our special guests. Even Uncle Kenny, the man giving away the art work, did not know which piece he was going to give away each day. To our incredible surprise, during the last raffle of the weekend, he gave away a signed photo of the 2018 MotoGP™ winner, Marc Marquez.
The crowd goes wild. We couldn’t have asked for a better ending to an amazing weekend.
