The 2016 Pirelli World Challenge is only a few short months away and excitement for the 27th season is reaching an all-time high. The 2015 season was one of the most competitive racing seasons with series Drivers’ Champions representing six different manufacturers: Johnny O’Connel (Cadillac), Frankie Montecalvo (Mercedes-Benz), Colin Thompson (Porsche), Michael Cooper (Chevrolet), Corey Fergus (Porchse), Jason Wolfe (Kia) and Johan Schwartz (Chevrolet). Manufacturer titles went to Porsche (GT), Ford (GTS), Mazda (TC) and Honda (TCA).
Coming into the 2016 season, the Pirelli World Challenge announced a variety of new elements to this year’s series including an impressive 11-weekend schedule and a new alliance with SRO Blancpain GT Series.

Circuit of The Americas (Austin, TX)
The Pirelli World Challenge opens its 2016 season at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, TX. All classes will be racing as part of a series headliner event weekend at the world-class 3.4 mile circuit.
Grand Prix of St. Petersburg (St. Petersburg, FL)
The Pirelli World Challenge teams head to St. Petersburg, FL, to run alongside IndyCar as part of the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. Taking place on the waterfront street course in downtown St. Petersburg, the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg is among the most respected motorsports events in North America.
Grand Prix of Long Beach (Long Beach, CA)
Pirelli World Challenge drivers get set to compete in the ‘Roar by the Shore’ in Long Beach, CA, part of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach Weekend.
Barber Motorsports Park (Birmingham, AL)
PWC competitors will be running as part of the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park near Birmingham, AL.
Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Bowmanville, ONT, CAN)
It’s another big Pirelli World Challenge Weekend as all classes head north of the border to run at the challenging high speed Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, in Bowmanville, ON, co-headlining with the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series as part of the Victoria Day Speedfest. The Barber Motorsports Park has been considered one of North America’s finest road courses for car and motorcycle racing.
Lime Rock Park (Lakeville, CT)
Pirelli World Challenge returns to race at the famed ‘Bullring of Road Racing’ on Memorial Day Weekend. Drivers will race the Ferrari 458C ("competition") car, which are exceedingly quick at Lime Rock. Competitors from each of the three continental series are brought together at the annual end-of-season World Finals event in Italy.
Road America (Elkhart Lake, WI)
The Pirelli World Challenge heads back to Wisconsin for a big headliner weekend as the series returns to Elkhart Lake’s legendary four-mile, 14-turn Road America.
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course (Lexington, OH)
Pirelli World Challenge teams travel to Lexington, OH to compete at the scenic 2.4-mile, 15-turn Mid-Ohio Sport Car Course, co-headlining with the IndyCar series as a part of the Honda Indy 200.
Utah Motorsports Campus (Tooele, UT)
Pirelli World Challenge teams and drivers have a return date at picturesque and challenging Utah Motorsports Campus in Tooele, UT.
Sonoma Raceway (Sonoma, CA)
PWC teams return to California’s beautiful 2.52-mile road course at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, CA along with IndyCar as part of the GoPro Grand Prix of Sonoma weekend. The 12-turn road circuit was carved into the rolling hills at the gateway to the Sonoma Wine Country. Since then, race fans have been treated to some of the greatest racing found anywhere in the world.
Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (Monterey, CA)
For the second straight season, Pirelli World Challenge teams and drivers close out the season at the 11-turn, 2.238-mile jewel of a road course on California’s beautiful central coast – Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, in Salinas, CA. The weekend season finale ends in a series headliner event.
